The Village Hall is prepared for our French Soirée
Thank you to everyone who came to our French Evening at the beginning of March. We were so pleased by the support from the village – the event was a sell-out and from the feedback we’ve had, it sounded as if everyone had a great time! The hall was decorated with red, white and blue flags and balloons and looked amazing.
The Cambridge-based band, Django’s Tiger, played Parisian cafe jazz from the 30s and 40s, and everyone enjoyed some French wine, cheese and good company. Peter and Jill presented the Twinning Project so far and talked about our plans for the future and Philip and the Foxton Singers led some community singing of ‘Les Champs Elysées’! We were thrilled to raise almost £800 for the Association, which has given us a very good start to the funding we’ll need for future activities and exchanges.
